Established in 2008, the Extolling Excellence Foundation for Service and Scholarship, Inc. (EEFSS) was founded to support and empower deserving young women through scholarship assistance, educational advancement, leadership development, and community engagement.
As the philanthropic arm of the Sigma Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (Brooklyn, New York), the Foundation is committed to expanding access to higher education and creating pathways for personal and professional success. Guided by the principles of service, scholarship, and excellence, EEFSS invests in the next generation of women leaders who are poised to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
Our mission is to assist women in their pursuit of higher education and career development, support initiatives that improve individual and community well-being, and foster opportunities that inspire achievement, leadership, and lifelong learning.
In 2011, the Foundation launched the Extolling Excellence Scholarship, a signature initiative made possible through grassroots fundraising and the generosity of supporters who believe in the transformative power of education. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, community service, extracurricular involvement, leadership potential, and a competitive essay submission.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to outstanding young women pursuing higher education and has expanded its philanthropic reach through community partnerships and grant support. Among its many initiatives, EEFSS proudly co-sponsors the Zora Neale Hurston Oratorical Competition, a biennial program that cultivates confidence, communication skills, and academic excellence among youth.
Today, the Foundation continues to build upon its legacy by creating meaningful opportunities for educational advancement, leadership development, and community impact.
